Essential Audiobooks narrators nominated for prestigious award

5th October 2016

Wow! What a brilliant couple of weeks.

We’ve released our two newest additions, the hold-onto-the-edge-of-your-seat thriller, ‘Blackout’, and the heartrending fictional memoir, ‘Brushstrokes in Time’, and have been busily preparing for our upcoming launch events in New York and London. To top it all off, we’ve received some very exciting news.

We’re incredibly pleased to announce that we have not one, not two, but three award-nominees on our team.

Our oh-so talented narrators, Gregg Rizzo and Anna Parker-Naples, have both been nominated for the prestigious Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS) 2016 Award for Best Narrator in the Audiobook – Classics category. Phillip J Mather, who features on our collection of ghost stories, has also been nominated for an award in the Short Story – Anthology category. We couldn’t be prouder!

Gregg Rizzo

Gregg RizzoGregg, who is nominated for his Essential Audiobooks reading of Jack London’s ‘The Call of the Wild’, is one of our most prolific artists, whose distinctive silky smooth voice makes him the ideal narrator for classics such as ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’, and ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’.

With over 100 audiobooks under his belt (despite narrating for just over two years!), including the sequel, ‘White Fang’, it should come as no surprise that Gregg’s hard work and natural talent have been recognised by one of the most significant awarding bodies in the audiobook world.

Anna Parker-Naples

We’re incredibly honoured to have the second nominee, Anna Parker-Naples on board at Essential Audiobooks. Anna is no stranger to the SOVAS Awards, having been a finalist in two categories last year. Also the winner of the 2015 Audiofile Earphones Award for outstanding performance in narration, she brings with her a wealth of experience and talent, making her a truly valuable addition to the team.

Look out for Anna’s reading of ‘Surface Tension’, a collection of dark tales written by Sarah Gray, which is due to be released very soon.

Phillip J Mather

Phillip has over 10 years of experience, lending his voice to commercials, video games, and animations, as well as audiobooks.  We’re been lucky enough to call Phillip an Essential Audiobooks narrator, as he’ll be featuring on our upcoming ghost stories collection.

We’d like to say a huge ‘congratulations!’ to Anna, Phillip, and Gregg on their achievements so far, and we’re very proud to be a part of their story. Here’s wishing them the best of luck with the results, and to many more successes to come!
